rotary

Bill I'd agree...
as voted below:
6-other
2 - commando classic
2-general motorcycle cliscussion

I do agree 81 thru 92 is old/not modern, not even for drones

Hey Bill didn't notice before our join date and message count almost the same LOL

Why do you ask Dave, have you come across one?

Not buying or seen one recently, but was impressed when I visited the Shenstone factory in the late 80's and got the opportunity to ride the "shop mule".
Also toured the out back "tea room" where the racing effort was carried out.
I know it was unlikely due to US EPA, but if norton made the rotary available to the USA, I would have been much more likely to buy one.

Alan Goldwater here in California had a red rotary Commander that is now in the garage of Don Danmier, or was last I knew. There was a “Classic“ rotary in Livermore, Ca a few years back. I saw something on line this week that stated only Suzuki and Hercules made production wankel engined motorcycles. Obviously the author had not done due diligence researching his statement.

I remember back in the day these were "gray" market cars/motorcycles and still had to go through epa compliance while under bond. Once passed the certification they may have returned them to more original after the bond was returned. I doubt they came in the country in large numbers.
