Till today each little jaunt had its little show stoppers. No charging for staying out past dark, 3 leaks that essentially emptied primary on muffler, blow out rear tire and crank nut backing off into primary cover. Got rained on to wet pants on way out this am but felt nice not soaked in the saddle. Didn't put on mud flaps yet.
I was relieved to see how much ATF came out of primary on side of the hwy as means its enough to lube and not blow out. I piled leaf/pine needles up to catch the spill and then blow away w/o marking a innocent's paved section of driveway.
Milk crate, because I am a bumpkin with errands - home made bread, chain saw pull mechanism, parts to mail off and parts retrieved, plus a failed experiment of big coffee thermos mug and a bag of mail. That all in there. So how do you carry a qt jar of honey, or two...
New tire definitely smoother through pegs and bars, about nulls out now in low 30 mph in 4th and blunted soft vibes going 60-70. Still feels like riding a jello bowl compared to Peel, transmitting every nucance of road texture, hunting on grooved pavement roughen to pave over and wind eddies, will began an out of control fork wobble hands off coasting below 40 mph, flys straight though hands off with some initial L drift if on much of road crown, shows her Combat genetics by increasing pull the fast she goes.
But all is not perfect, WOT will break down misfire hitting 80 and with less throttle does similar by 90-95. Also does a cut out and re-suge lowing throttle from WOT at hi speed. All seems to imply Trix needs more main jet flow as no issue operating with spunk cutting short of instant ticket attention rates. Backed off to normal just as two trooper cars passed, whew.
Oh yeah very early in today's ride almost ate it following some HD parade a couple 100 yd ahead disappeared around a blind so I picked up pace to 60 as I came around > a PU mail truck slowly pulled out in front of me to cross lane but we missed by a bike length in a flash. A bit later in straight section they waved me past them in their lane so Norton logos flashed em just before Trixie's louder barking.
Dry as a bone pure electro static ionized blast streamline patina on leading edges.
