The last time I road raced was about 12 years ago, at which time I discovered I did not know how to ride my bike. I'd had a problem with my Seeley 850 mishandling as I braked into a corner at a previous meeting. So I changed the fork yokes by reducing the offset, and got more trail. Usually when I race, I practice getting on the gas earlier in corners. Afiter I changed the fork yokes, I found I could brake into corners, then immediately get straight back onto the gas and accelerate hard all the way around corners while remaining more vertical. I suggest this video about Mick Doohan explains something about riding style. In the old days Manx Nortons had shit tyres and remained more vertical in corners than new Japanese race bikes. -
