Piero, unless you consider yourself to be a reasonably competent machinist with the necessary jigs and tools-then I strongly suggest that you DO NOT attempt to do this work yourself.

Do know anyone who is a machinist/engineer?

One option would be to send the kit and master cylinder to RGM and let them do it.

Hi pierodn.
Your front brake is critical to your survival.
I have the equipment and have fitted my own RGM kit but would not consider doing such a high risk item for anyone else.
You must take it or send it to a specialist for this work to be done.

Hi Les,
RGM do not want to do this job now.

Hi,
the new brass cylinder relined do not has the two little holes that go from reservoir to the stock bore: where the oil goes into the new brass cylinder?
Thank you.
Piero

I don't think it's 16.5 mm! Perhaps 0.65 or 0.165? I done the RGM mod. on mine but it was about 20 years ago and I cannot remember now!

Hi Les,
thank you.
The 16,5 mm drill for all the lenght of the bore, from above to the end?

Thanks L.A.B. it's obviously a different mod to when I done mine all those years ago. I do remember having to drill a very small by-pass hole somewhere but when I saw 16.5mm mentioned I was puzzled considering that the bore itself is almost that size!
When I did mine the RGM kit was supplied with a sleeve that had to be Araldited into the original bore, I was a bit sceptical about it at the time but it's still working perfectly after all these years.

Yes. ("DRILL 16.5MM TO THE BASE OF THE BORE OF THE MASTER CYLINDER")

Are there two grooves around the outside of the cylinder? If so, there should be at least one hole in each groove? The grooves act as galleries between the master cylinder holes and the sleeve holes.

Hi All,
Thank you.
I think i can do now this job thanks to your precious help.
But, as DaveParry says, the bore now is already almost 16.5mm mentioned in the instructions and the brass cylinder goes all into the bore fine.

RGM do the modification themselves but they do it in batches a couple of times a year when they have sufficient demand. I normally send a master cylinder to them well in advance of needing it for a project.

Pierodn, just make sure that when you drill the master cylinder, make sure you get it very accurate when you set it up in the drill press.
I used a bolt of the same diameter as the master cylinder hole to align it in the drill press prior to drilling and also mounted it on a 50 x 50 mm box section block to hold it.
I did 2 master cylinders so the 50 x50 mm block came into use again.
Dont over drill the hole, make sure the drill doesnt go too deep into the master cylinder
