Can anyone tell me the procedure to change the felt seal in the primary chain case It looks like you need to drill out the pop welds to put in the new seal. Is that the case. If so how do you get exact alignment back? Thought it would just pop out but doesn't seem so. Any feedback would be appreciated
Thx

I pulled my seal out with needle nose pliers, then soaked the seal in oil and compressed it in a vise between 2 big washers for a few hours. The fun part is fitting it back in there as it looks like there is no way it will fit. After you get it in try to find a deep socket that you can pass through the hole and in a circular motion work the seal evenly into it's groove. Also oil it up again when you put the inner primary back on over the shaft. My previous owner spread permatex over the 2 thin plates that hold the seal into one position in the primary (maybe to stop leaks?) so I had to soak the area in gasket stripper to get it adjustable again....
