recover 73 seat

the original seatcover had been replaced with just a vinyl cover. i want to reinstall a basket weave cover. can anyone tell me if anything is missing to complete the install?

I think there should still be some foam cover over the seat pad...?

concours, i have a new cover. what i think i am missing is a thin foam layer over top of the main seat foam. since it had already been modified im not sure

I've never seen a layer over the foam on an original seat.

The original seat was just a single piece of foam. The hard part is figuring out whether that is the piece you have.

I took a roadster seat from a '74 and cut it down to fit an interstate tank. The photo below is the only one I have of the foam but it gives an idea.

The foam looks pretty tatty but it had plenty of life left in it and makes a comfortable seat.

PS-After posting this realized you had a link to Google Drive for a photo. Still figuring out photo process sans Photophucket. So yes it looks like you are set for foam.

That thin foam is attached to the inside of the new, PROPER seat cover. Leighton sells the entire cushion as well.
