I have a 1973 750. Looks like PO may have done some modification to the fender. He drilled two new holes as compared in pic of original ones. The originals have reinforcement plate behind them. The new holes don't so the holes are enlarging. If I try to line up the originals it throw the fender out of alignment. Is this fender off a different year perhaps?

New fenders are so cheap you should just replace it. And make sure the horn mount is correct.

That's my next question. The horn mount. Can i get some pics or info? Mine had a center bolt setup.

Got horn figured out. Thanks L.A.B. Here is the issue with the fender. Wondering if its an aftermarket fender? Holes drilled wrong from start maybe?

It doesn't look like the right item all, to me.

What happens if you try to use the original holes? I think I had to tweak the fended to get them to fit. Maybe the PO thought that wasn't right. But being a British bike sometimes you do odd things.

I tried to line it up with the original holes. Fender is offset and the other holes are way off. I'm going to order a new one. Thanks

My '74 fender just happens to be hanging off a peg behind the bench (waiting for me to decide if it will get painted) and it doesn't have a reinforcing plate but instead the two larger holes. Or some that look just like that. I wonder if the plate was added to yours.

Ordered a new one today. Go from there and see how it mounts up. This bike sat for years and I'm just trying to get it rolling again. Rode it for a few miles before I took it apart to fixe from forks and rear brakes. You can tell how greasy it is from the pics. Once I get it rolling again and put a few miles on it I'm taking it down for a rebuild. Engine is good, the rest needs help.

As luck would have it the fender I ordered from Old Brits is out of stock. Is there another parts supplier in the US someone can recommend. I hate going somewhere else but was hoping to get one asap.
