Quick rebuild question

I'm pulling the 750 Commando engine apart for the first time in several years and according to my manual, there should be a thrust washer ( or shim) behind the intermediate gear. There wasn't one one mine.
Do they all have them or did that change from year to year?

Hi, only the pre-1970 commando and earlier twins had a shim (067548) behind that intermediate gear, I had used one on a friend's Cdo but that's because I was using an 850 MK3 gear which is 1.5mm thinner (ish....).
