Queen gone!

I am sorry she has passed, her tireless duty to her country goes unmatched.

What a sorry shame we now have to tolerate Chaz and Camel, I’d much rather he stood aside for William. That won’t happen, he hasn’t got the gumption to do what we common people would prefer.

Yes , Truly a Great Lady through thick and the thin , displayed unmatched character in my life time … I not a true full on monarchist , when I look to the immediate future , but I sure did admire our late Queen , may The Queen Rest In Peace ….

Being born in Briton, raised in Canada by a British family, cannot help but be a supporter of the Monarchy and the Queen. Sad to hear of her passing. But she had a great reign and I think she added so much to the world and her country. Will miss her Christmas messages.

It’s not captainship of the local pub football club…

It’s his born duty.

God Save the King.

Ill offer a reason most would get on board with: tourist income.
Having a Head of State that is not a politician from the merry go round is a better reason.
God Bless His Royal Majesty. Long may he reign.

End of an era.....
But am struggling to find any compelling reason to keep the rest of the whole sorry soap opera going.
Yep I get what you mean but she was somehow different
Never put a foot wrong for 7 decades!

"Therefore I am sure that this, my Coronation, is not the symbol of a power and a splendour that are gone but a declaration of our hopes for the future, and for the years I may, by God's Grace and Mercy, be given to reign and serve you as your Queen."

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, 2 June 1953.
There will never be another like her.

The more I learn about her circumstance and reign , the more I am impressed. She put personal things aside and ruled by example with an incredible sense of duty to her countrymen. Her rule spanned so many Prime ministers that over one hundred years separated the birthdates of the first and the current - amazing .
Thrust into a position of daunting responsibilities as a very young woman at a time when women weren’t expected to do that sort of thing . She acted as one of the greatest mediators , kind of a friction damper on the teeter - tottering scale of human events .
World leaders today would do well to learn from her .
For her subjects I wish a continuance - she will be a difficult act to follow.

While I am somewhat of an Anglophile (not just the bikes, mind), and while I agree wholeheartedly with those who say Her Majesty was an amazing woman and certainly a fine Queen, this lot that she's left behind give me the shivers, and would be just cause for the UK to do away with the monarchy.

I waved the Union Jack as the Queen and Duke rode by in a limo on the GW Parkway towards Mt Vernon in 1991. Snapped a pic with the Queen looking my way and the Duke subtly waving. Rip Queen Elizabeth II.

When the Republic was put to the vote in Australia, I voted for it. I would not do that again - Trump changed my outlook. Like Capitalism, the Westminster system is one which has been proven to work. We might not like it, but it is probably as good as it gets. -
