I am looking for a proven part number for a quad ring to replace the o ring in the cover for the shifter shaft.
I have looked at previous threads but not found any good numbers. Most of the threads focus on lipped oil seals.
Here is one number I did find, but when I look it up in a manufacturer's table, the dimensions seem wrong: Q-4114

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Here in New Zealand we have a company called Seal Specialists, I took my O ring as a sample and the matched a square lipped ring to suit, thy also supplied one for the kick starter shaft, they have been in my bikes for the last 5+ years.

Stephen,
That is the correct size for the gear shifter. If you want the size for the Kickstart lever I can give that too. Q-4213. Edit to the post to show correct Kickstart shaft size which should be Q-4214. Apologies for the wrong size. BTW Andover norton has their gasket kits with these quad rings. At least the last time I ordered when I needed to replenish my spare parts bin.
Cheers,

Thanks Thomas,

I called my local o-ring supplier and they can bring in these rings. Should be a nice improvement over stock.
