Hey Guys,

Those of you with ventilated primaries, what are you using as mesh and what have you fixed it with?
Mine came with the bike and was never fitted very well so I'll putting something new on there. It was fixed with what appears to have been Araldite which was brittle and cracked in a couple places.
I was thinking of using something like Sikaflex to glue it down. As with most things, I'm sure surface prep with the most important bit.

Check Internet for some fine looking modified plugs. The clutch adjustment plug will actually suck in cool air when clutch is turning, very cool.

I've seen them, they're pretty nice, but my primary has already been cut many years ago. So I'm looking to get something to replace the old screen that was keeping the rocks out. Just not sure where to look other than cheap mesh for doors and such.

Siliflex is the best, I wiped a bit of left over on my shorts and the fucker is still on my shorts after 6 years ago and so many washes, good shit.

+1 on the Sikaflex.
When I worked on Shorts SD3-30's and SD3-60's it was the approved sealant to install the cockpit windows.

It was messy but it held tight and sealed well.
I think we used MEK or Toluene to clean it off before it cured.

I still have some work shirts with some on them. And they have been thru dozens of washes.

Try doing a Google Search for "woven wire cloth" - I think this is what you are seeking. Also you might consider using "expanded metal" as a screen.
Both come in various sizes and alloys (stainless, aluminum, etc.).
Hope this helps.

Its all just for decoration &/or weight loss so be creative...
Having seen what all a primary drive can chew up I used Al rivets.

Can I assume these mesh solutions are to ventilate a belt primary as I don't recall heat ever being an issue
or being attributed to any chain primary failures?

I have had a belt primary for 16 years now and I have it completely enclosed, no ventilation, and I live
the desert SW, it gets damn hot here and I ride in it.

I have never had any issue with my belt primary being enclosed.

So what exactly is the reason for wanting to ventilate any primary, belt or chain?

I've quizzed Steve Maney to Kenny Dreer and many others about the need to ventilate the primary and told absolutely no functional reason for belt or charger, so its only for decoration and some weight loss but I and many others sure do love to see the various styles, just as long as it ain't mine as junk get'd in there on crashes. I am force air ventilating Peels two belts but filtered air entry scope ain't down low on primary and the air exit is behind the clutch main shaft area so can't hardly tell by looking. In Peel blower heated case the cases might help draw engine heat away some. The best way would be get ClubMan Racing plastic outer cover to decorate and lose a few lb to boot.
