Im thinking of running one of these with my belt setup
Primary Cover

I really like the look of the exposed clutch. If I could get the stock cover to not look off center I would keep it. Will the stock pipes fit? And are there any other draw backs?

Hehe, its a bit more risque revealing than most road going covers. Why not if not running in super gritty conditions? Luck of the draw if headers clear, its a rare occasional cover issue with supposedly factory spec parts. We all like to see as much of nice Norton insides as we can so I vote go for it.

Clubman has flip-flops? Are they chrome plated? Are they Margaretta proof?

You find me something margarita-proof and I'll buy it and test it.

I'd say that if you use this, it's largely only for cosmetics. The downside is that you expose your primary components to moisture, dirt and gravel. A poor trade in my opinion.

Curious about what you mean by getting your original primary centered. I run a belt drive and use the original cover. It fits just like it always has and retains the stock look.

If you want to expose the internals, I'd recommend carefully cutting holes in the original cover and putting screen over the holes from the inside. That way you are still protected from gravel, which can ruin your expensive belt sprockets.

Edit: For those interested in them, they are available from Unity Equipe. I suspect Clubman's gets them from Unity.

Edit2: Oh yes, you typically have to make your own mounting tabs and spacers for them. If you don't mount them well with rubberized spacers, they'll usually crack with time from vibration. Ask me how I know.

what I mean by centered is, if I were to mill a hole on the clutch side it would not be concentric to that shape on that side of the cover. I believe I looked and it was going to be off. Im still undecided on what Im going to do, as I do like the curves of the stock cover, and it still keeps the bike to that period.

I also know they are more for racing apps, due to easy removal, and Im guessing cheap repair being just sheet metal.

Hi all

My inner primary case was damaged by a wayward rear chain many years ago but never got rid of the case when I replaced it, but now I run a belt drive I cut the damaged part of the inner case behine the cluch housing cut out the whole slide seal as well the end of the inner case, I also cut 2 slots at the front of the inner case so fresh air can flow into the primary case, the good thing about this I can still run my outer primary case with out any holes in it, the only part of the belt you can see is where it runs around the cluch housing, but from the side of the bike it looks just like the standard primary.

I have been running with this for about 5 months now, the best part is you can see that the belt is running true at anytime its running and it seems the be keeping nice and cool insde, the only problem I through I mite have is the rear chain lub getting on the belt but so far no problems yet, very happy with this set up.

Steve Manixing you crack me up with your seasoned experiences, keep it up!

Vulin, you know ya want it so why deny it before ya done. When I want what I want ain't nothing for it but go for it and find out. Most leaves me grining when I do. Factory covers are over build but for lightest seal cover Clubmans and the like have plastic repo of stock cover.

Never had your pants caught in a bicycle chain? I used to have a clothespin on my pants leg to keep it from flapping into the chain when I was a kid. Now that would just look silly on a Norton rider!

It looks like it would be more at home on a homemade drill press.

it looks as if the belt is covered pretty well. So I dont think getting my pants caught would be an issue. I also have rear sets, which will get my feet out of the way even more. I think Hobot is in my head:)

Than sky blue board tracker Commando is to die for! Must keep that look in mind for my next righteous chopper and exposed primary. Belt drives ain't ya kids bicycle or even go kart clothes snatching finger chopping chain drive. If ya rub a belt it mostly just rubs and throws cloths away. Plenty HD's out there is less cover than this Norton version but still worth a groin tense sense of the possibility.

I'm tempted to do a steam punk port hole brass and glass sight window. Sky Blue frame sure appeals to me too.
In your head huh, should that be scary for me or you : )

This would probably put your panties in a knot.
