Doug Taylor Metal Finishing in Banwell North Somerset is very good in all respects.

Not sure where you are located, as shipping could have a large impact.

Anyway, I'm a fan of Brown's Plating in Paducah, Kentucky. They did a rear fender from a BSA 441 Victor which required some body work and welding; it came out looking amazing and I believe that I paid $300 ish (they do have a published price list--web based), plus shipping. The fender was turned around in less than 2 weeks. They have also done Norton foot rests, kicker and numerous BMW parts for me. Their chrome has a slight nickel hue that makes it look a bit like stainless steel, my first love...

Over the years I have had plating done by several companies, some good, some okay, & some not fit to mention.
For the last fifteen years I have used Phil Jenkins in Wilmslow, Cheshire. The plating is the best I have ever had by far. The polishing prior to plating is top notch & then the parts are triple plated(copper nickel chromium). The only downside is all that attention to detail costs money. Of course, when the parts still look good many years later & don't need replating, it doesn't seem so expensive.

Thanks for the heads up guys I'll see if I gan get a p and d. I feel the need for some shiney. Kentucky is a bit too far for the job, but thanks anyway, I think Nickel plating is the muts nuts years ago a mate of mine had a nickel plated Python it was the tastiest hand gun I've ever seen, banned now in UK.

I just had some stuff done by the Bronze Company in Lancaster - a good job, and not overly expensive.
I'll certainly be using them again.
Unfortunately they can't do wheel rims, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful.

I've previously had stuff triple plated by S&T in Bristol which was good, but very expensive - highly recommended where some restoration of the original part is required.
