dear All,
I got my frame powdercoated and I was wondering about what to use to maintain it (any kind of wax?) and to do touch ups..
Thanks for your suggestions!

I've got a can of rustolium gloss black I put on the bad spots with a brush. Being black, it's hard to see from 10 feet. After a year or 2 on the road, it's not looking so glossy any more especially where the tie wraps are. It's a motorcycle, not a museum piece.

I had a frame and parts come to me that had been powdercoated - in glorious green.

Rather than strip it all off with a flame (about the only way to do it, other than LOTS of paint stripper) painted over it with a gloss black enamel. Slightly roughed up, powdercoat makes a passable undercoat.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts..
anything for maintaining, like wax?
(I already know someone of you will say: 'it is just a bike!' :o)

Any good wax like Mcguires will work.
I can just see you now with a box of Q-Tips, baby wipes and dental tools and various light sources trying to get into each nook and cranny but dude, it's just a bike.
God help you when a bug hits it.
I'm just messin' wit ya.
Polish it like you stole it!

.. I was prepared to this.. :D

It's alright, we all have some degree of OCD we have to deal with.
I would rather be accused of having OCD than to be accused of being ANAL.

Ain't no perfect way to heal thick power coat scar. I will never powder coat my Commando items again, but will use Peels left over powder coat as decent base cover of texture to rattle can paint and polish down for nice effect. My powder coater gave me a small jar of the gloss black powder and jar of toxic solvent to dabble in on scratches and try to buff back even, but warned me not to hair drier it to melt back like original short lasting weak layer. Mine could take a good whack with a hammer ok as long as flat impacted, but any edge of any tool or part or rock thrown up left lasting impressions on Peel.
