I've been running a Norvil belt drive on my Commando for years in hot southeast but am thinking about converting over to an Alton e-start and a Hayward belt run dry. Anyone running a Hayward poly belt dry without venting?

John B. in Bama where it may reach 90 degrees this week.

I have an Alton Ekit which has a RGM belt but here in damp old England I don't think heat is an issue.

If you contact Alton they are very helpful and may give you some answers and I case of some belt kits can supply the spacer you will need as the normally supplied one is for chain. The width of the belt is also important may recommend no more than 30mm mine is the 32mm belt an there's no room left I did have to remove a little of the new inner primary case around the engine pulley as its wider than original sprocket.
