Silicon (oxide) usually refers to the insulation and copper refers to the conductor. Conductors are usually copper or graphite impregnated fiber. The silicone jackets are somewhat more heat resistant than the plain rubber insulation. Graphite conductors are generally more RF suppressant than solid copper.

For my own preference, I have a roll of the old Packard 440 black rubber insulated solid copper core. I have no issues with analog EI (Boyer) and zener diode regulation, but with Podtronic regulator/rectifier and Tri-Spark EI I use NGK suppressor plug caps.

No difference in performance.

Solid copper is more durable.

Solid copper wires may cause problems with digital ignitions -even with resistor plug caps. The result may be nothing more than an occasional kickback that wouldn't be there with resistor wires.

With all the digital junk on my bike I have to run resistor wires and resistor plugs [or plug caps].

I prefer resistor plugs and non-resistor caps, that way I get new resistors every time I put in new spark plugs.

I tend to use none resistor plug caps too, but basically because it’s more difficult to buy non-resistor plugs.

So I keep both resistor and non-resistor plugs ‘in stock’. I buy black non-resistor types (cos they’re my ‘norm’) and red resistor types, so they STAND OUT when fitted. That way, even I can keep track of what’s what and not get ‘em mixed up... (usually) !

When I went to my local auto parts / hardware store for solid core wires the only stuff they had was for lawn mowers - I think it's steel, not copper. Works fine though. Resistor plugs.

in my case with a micro digital it was a guaranteed kick back. and almost impossible to start when cold. it even started one time with a kick back than took off running. the resistor wires together with resistor caps has all but stooped the kick backs.

3 micron nano carbon filaments

Why would you ever use them cheap things.

Go for "The good stuff".

" Each cable is composed of 16 solid-silver conductors arranged in a double counter-spiral geometry, with each strand guaranteed to have a flawless surface. The cables use foamed-polyethylene for the dielectric, and a multi-layered carbon-based sequence of components acts as a noise dissipation system. Prices start at $12,200 for a pair."

Glad to make you up a set.....

What are those original green Champion plug leads? Still working fine on
<-----that.
