My motor is out for a rebuild, very excited to get it back!

The head and bottom end cases will be bead blasted, should look great.

BUT, wondering if any of you have good results with painting the cases, or should I just leave them blasted clean?

Real nice bright aluminum paint of some sort?

The factory used silver (aluminum) paint on some of the 850 cases. One trick is to spray paint into a cloth and rub it on the cases. I did this on my '74 850 John Player Norton with good result. For my '72 750 engine, went with bead blasting - also good result.

I bead blasted, primed with zinc chromate them sprayed with Eastwood's Alumablast. Makes it continue to look beadblast fresh and easy to touch up. Also doing the gbox and hubs the same. I live 200yds from saltwater though....

Brush inner cases with a stainless steel brush! Gives the cases (engine and tranny) a nice sheen!
