Does anyone know if the Omex ECU will swap directly over to bikes with SC ecu? Through fault of my own(probably) apparently a few components in my ecu are blown which would normally be repairable but the powers that be decided to build and source an ecu with out dated and obsolete components as well as mount them in strange ways that aren’t typically standard. So, a good ecu that just needs few dollars worth of components may be worthless. My next step is to contact SC directly but they have been no help in the past so I wouldn’t think they will be now. They clam up as soon as you mention Norton.

I have not done this , but there is an upgrade path. Iwilson has done it and it requires an adapter cable. Norton provide this as well.

So here are the answers.

I guess my original ECU was an SC. The new one is definitely an OMEX. They have used an adapter plug to connect to the wiring harness. My OBDII reader no longer appears to work. The dealer has added some protection to the wiring loom and repositioned the indicator flasher to stop the rubbing.

Cut in wiring loom from rubbing on the indicator flasher unit. Middle photo shows the additional protection.

Hopefully that's cleared this topic up to everyone's satisfaction.

heres a thought

ditch the omex and SC ecu.
Splice in a thruxton ecu and see if its mappable !!

:D

Lol well one solution is similar. I would be ditching the norton ecu in place of a motec. I may be making a separate post On that subject soon for all 961 owners with tuning issues, which is basically everyone, to get some feedback.
