It's a pity, although we have Harley owners on this forum, no section to discuss them. When using my other steeds there is always a place to go but, although mentioned, no Harley area. Now I've tried a few Harley sites but, come on, no comparison!

I’ve looked at a few Harley forums when I’ve been looking for some specific info. But like many forums, they pretty crap really with loads of waffle and unsubstantiated yet highly held opinions, etc, etc.

So I’m with you, a Harley section on this site would be a welcome addition.

I think it'd be a bad idea
What I mean is where would it stop?
People come here because it called "accessnorton" catering for people with Nortons
Essentially classic Nortons but with modern Norton's aswel
It in addition caters
For triumph
BSA
Enfield
Vincent etc all British marks
You do get some hinkley triumph infiltration but not much
Why bring in a foreign make like Harley? Maybe add Ducati honda Kawasaki guzzi Suzuki Yamaha BMW etc etc aswel?
Or add in a "general" motorcycle section?
Nothing against Harley's or their riders but what's the need ?

That's your career in politics out the window!!!!
(Though you'd get my vote :) )

Tis a fair argument.
But the reason I agree with Al is that Harleys are in a similar genre to old Brit 4 strokes in many ways.
And, here are quite a number of Harley riders on this forum.
And finally, a lot of forum members really don’t like Harley’s, so one place for all the Harley stuff to be placed would save y’all from the pollution in other threads !

NOT taking issue, here (it IS Jerry's baby after all, so the referee's decision WILL be final!), but in response to: 'Harleys are in a similar genre to old Brit 4 strokes' I do wonder how many here are mid '70's and older??
I'm a very peripheral observer through having zero interest, but..... I always view most of them as a 'modern' (as in 'current') motorcycles, rather than 'old' bikes... generally speaking!

Waffle, waffle ad infinitum....

Well, of course modern ones are modern…!

But they’re still big rumpety 4 stroke twins, that ooze mechanical visceral character, and are owned by people explicitly for that reason.

Just like a Norton IMHO.

Ultimately it'd be Jerry's choice yes
And everyone is here by choice
Nothing lasts forever I guess

How about a section for battery powered wheelchairs? ;)

Harley, BMW, Ducati, Moto Guzzi, KTM, Husqvarna, ... that "ought to add" list could get really long. I'm not sure I care. However, the British bike bias does feel right for this site's intent.

If Harleys are allowed it would be Dealers only, few USA Harley owners know how to change a sparking plug! IMHO I own 3 and do my own work because I'm cheap!
Down here its quite rare to see a pre Evolution Harley on the road ...

You boys really do surprise me.

As I said already, lots of forum members have Harley’s, a section would give them a place to talk.

And, all the Harley haters can simply avoid going there.

So, everyone is happy!

Obviously I’m too easily pleased.

You boyz keep bickerin’ and bitchin’ away, I’ve said all I have to say and am happy to leave it to Jerry.

In fact, according to you lot I ought to stop posting at all, after all even my Norton contains hardly any Norton !

Or aftermarket manufacturer shills.

I think Harley's are cool. If I were 30 years younger, 6 inches taller, and weighed 50 more pounds, that is what I would be riding knowing what I know today. They scream comfort to me.

I would not buy one with clip-ons and a monkey humping a football riding position.

Ref British bike bias, surely that rules out the 961, KDs engine with far Eastern internals, in a British frame but, the rest, cherry picked from around the globe.

Certainly, say that like Curly of the 3 stooges would say it. ;)

Parts manufacture location rules out a lot of bikes. Harley's probably have some far eastern electronics and/or connectors on them. What doesn't?

Honestly, I don't care what gets discussed here. I do know what two words next to each other can't be used though. lol
