I've tried the search function to look for the mechanical drawings and parts list of the '70 model oil tank and related parts. My parts list book only shows the late model oil tank and parts list. I've looked on oldbritts site too and couldn't find it there either... Do these drawings exist somewhere, and I'm just not finding them... thanks

Presuming you mean the 'ham can' tank? I couldn't find anything other than what LAB has posted - the Andover photo is the closest (and most useful) available AFAIK.
As the 'S' and 'R' parts were covered as a non-illustrated supplement to the '68 parts listing I don't believe there's any illustrated stuff.

I understand the NOC have a lot of factory drawings, but... let's not go there

B+Bogus is right, no illustrated stuff for the central "ham can"oil tank/ battery tray .
I have a pic of the assembly somewhere, will post it when I find it.
DogT had some pics posted quite a while ago.

thanks all. I'm missing a screw that goes in the lower flange of the ham can (oil tank) I want to mount a home made bracket on those 2 screws to hold the transmission filter that Jim Comstock recommends to mount in the oil return line. I wondered if the nuts were brazed onto the ham can's flange or if the assembly was a loose bolt, washer, and nut. I could have taken things apart to inspect them, but an actual mechanical drawing with part #'s would allow me to learn what I wanted to know without taking things apart, and then also order the missing hardware before I open that can of worms...

thank you... again.

I have all kinds of pics of the tank and ham can air filter out of the bike. I can email them if desired. Seems to me after cleaning up my tank for painting, most of it was brazed together. I've never seen a parts diagram either.
