I have recently bought a 74 850 Mk2A. Not been restored but is quite tidy with some nice parts on it. One thing I have never come across before is this type of oil pressure warning device, amybody know anything about them. Looks like it is wired to the red warning light on the headlamp shell.
Oil pressure switch on rocker spindle

Looks like an automotive oil pressure sensor adapted to a Commando head. I have heard of gauges with sending units on Nortons and I used to run a double banjo on the end of the rocker oiler with a line to a pressure gauge, but this is the first idiot-light setup I've seen.

Looks similar to Madass’s idea, except his switch comes off the the oil feed line at the timing case connection.

Looks like a good idea though, pity there isn't smaller switches available!

Personally I would have put it on the rear spindle so it was a bit more out of sight?

I think it's cool! Put a red LED in the bulb holder, easier to see in the daylight...
