Oil line routing from tank to motor....

The manual I have doesn't show the flow direction or what line is what. I did a search and did not get the result I was looking for. Did or does anyone have a drawing or diagram to show the flow from the tank to the motor, oil filter and breather line?

The primary was overfilled again. I'm going to remove the oil bag and lines and give them a good flushing out. I have already removed the plugs and pressure valve from the engine and cleaned them out. The oil filter will also be replaced.

Figure C29 in section C21 of the manual shows the line routing. Black is supply, grey is return.

Oil comes out of the banjo at the back of the tank and goes into the top pipe coming out the back of the crankcase. From there it goes through the engine, back out the bottom pipe and to the filter. Line comes out of the filter and back into the tank via the pipe hanging down by the banjo.

Today, I cleaned the oil bag, made a repair on the back side, blew out the oil filter pod and lines. Installed a PVC valve in the breather line. But where do I get a new oil filter. Autozoo didn't have anything compatible. I will have to go to the motorcycle shop next week but where does everyone buy their oil filters? If you buy it at the local auto parts store what is the part #?

I think a K&N 153 will fit, too, but I haven't tried it personally.

I will look into that filter. So where in Corona are you? Off the 91 or futher south? Did you post pic's of you bike yet?

I am using the K&N 153 since last oil change, works fine (got a pile of Baldwins here too but they're a pain to get off - the K&N "nut" on the end of the filter makes life much easier). Had the 153 around cause it fits my Ducati, tried 'er out, no worries.

+1 on the KN-153. Most places will carry it (like Cycle Gear), because it fits most Ducatis for the past 20 years. About $13.

Okay, how is your oil lines plumbed? The line from the motor to the filter want's to blow off the tube or through the line. I didn't have this issue until I put the K&N on there.

The K&N has an internal non-return valve, check your oil filter housing and cast into the housing above the 2 pipes entering it are IN and OUT, check the rubber pipe connected to the IN comes from the engine, and the rubber pipe connected to the OUT continues up to the oil tank. If they are connected around the other way no oil can leave the engine, blame the DPO.
