Odometer Reset Dilema

I recently purchased a 72 Bonnie with matching serial numbers. The odometer was refurbished and reset back to zero and now reads 82 miles and change. I have the original title and it states the bike has around 17,000 miles. The engine has not been overhauled. Does it make sense (or matter) to roll the odometer forward to the original mileage + 82 miles? I'm not even really sure how to do it.

I do not intend on bringing the bike back to "original" period condition, so my guess is that it doesn't matter. Just wanted the opinion of the group.

Thanks!

I always have Joel Levine leave the indicated mileage on all speedometers unless the client requests otherwise, or the meter is not original to the bike.
