I was looking at a 69 T120R with possibly purchasing. I noted the frame number XC10T4635 which does not match the engine number BC11339 T120R. I can find no information on what the 10T stands or of if it was ever included in Vin numbers. Anyone have any reference to this number. Thanks Robin

Hi, That frame number looks very odd for a Triumph.
It looks like a BSA number !
The engine number ties in with it being a 69 model. B = February and C = 1969 Build Year.
If it was an earlier frame it would have the prefix "DU" followed by 4 or 5 numbers.

I hope this helps

Thank you. I suspect the frame number was changed as the numbers are larger than usual and there is no T120R stamped. I did do a Cpic search and it is not reported as stolen based on either number. Being a non matching number certainly reduces the value. The owner of course thinks it is worth the earth. I think I will take a pass on this bike.
Cheers

Looks like somebody had a title for a little BSA and needed to get a Triumph big twin on the street with a plate...
