I'm getting impress mostly only administrative participants left now a days. Old Norton ain't spending much on ads any more but the new kid on the block can.

Never saw it before but from the pics it looks like it's for the owners of the current motorcycles known as Norton. As has been said by many movie characters, "Nothing to see here, move along."

No posts in any of the tabs, so thought maybe a scam to get the membership fee. Anyone can set up a website with pictures from Norton motors website.

Looks like this thing just started up. Give it some time to build momentum, or just die on the vine.

There is a post in there about a '72 850 Commando rebuild. :?:

The NOC has a really nice little magazine that comes every month, and their membership card is a heavy plastic thing, like a credit card, with a gorgeous color picture of a Norton on the front. Well worth the $30 or so, and I get to practice (practise?) English english.

I really enjoyed the article in the latest issue telling the history of the sparking plug.

I joined NOC in '99 and got the card & number to help cut the ice and my C'do eye teeth on. Even got an article in their publication on my first ever Norton ride, Love or Terror, so something like that. A good portion of their online articles was developed while I was daily in touch with them on going troubles. Too many familiar names are gone now. I let membership drop before they went to pay only forum but I've nothing but good experiences privately and officially. Mr. Hudson was still a living presence too back then. Makes sense with new Norton being produced again 'locally' they'd be the first to take em under wing.

A buddy of mine bought a Combat in 72, and as usual the main bearings failed in a very short time. John Hudson himself came round to my buddy's house, removed and rebuilt the motor there and then !
Can't think of anything like that going on today.

In 1981 when I joined the Northern California Norton Owners Club it was required to also join the NOC as we are a Branch. That requirement was dropped later, but I always enjoyed the Roadholder and being a member of the organization with so many members who were actually employed with Norton Villiers during Commando production. The reason reason I asked who these .net people are, would not like them to detract from the original club.

I wonder what the warranty hours allowed shop time for replacing the crankshaft bearings was in 1972?

I'm sure after doing it numerous times the hours needed would be minimized, but today of course a complete engine teardown and reassembly would be significant.
