Norton V4SV: New Norton’s new superbike unveiled

Personally, I suspect the engine will at least be assembled in England, where all the parts come from is another question though. I hope not India, India has a huge and low cost manufacturing base… but it is not very experienced in high precision / high end manufacturing yet. Core engine parts sourced from India was a big contributory factor in the disaster that was the TVR Tuscan.

As to whether or not it looks boring etc, it’s kinda difficult to tell from the computer generated images. In fact, I find it a bit hard to understand why MCN got so excited when all they’ve actually got are some digital images. Let’s be honest, any kid could knock them out in no time with todays easily available tech.

Hopefully they‘ll have something physical for us to ogle at the NEC in Dec.

Regarding those images… is it only me who thinks it likes like a blinged up 20+ year old 595 Daytona….??

MCN are probably having a slow week, so any Norton news will help bump up sales. Norton themselves are probably starting to "leak" information to the press to hype up any model launch.

I agree, in silver it does look like an updated 595 / 955 (which is what Triumph should have done rather than the angular thing they came up with).

this is likely to be a limited production bike sold at a premium price, I am guessing, so mass appeal is not necessary. Exclusivity / boasting etc are more relevant.
Meanwhile , there is 100 % reliability from all the Norton bikes sold so far by TVS.....!

Where's that bit written? Lol

Looks thoroughly boring
To me, apart from the end can and colour change, the computer rendering looks 100% identical to what we've been seeing since the 2016. I'm really surprised by this, as I thought TVS would have taken this opportunity to update the styling and differentiate from the SG era of V4's.

well, they have dropped the shiny chrome option, which I was told by an employee had caused a headache in getting quality good enough.

That was a huge problem! Trouble is, people assumed it was paint, so again assumed it would be a similar finish to their cars paint. They also tried to wrap it, but that was a struggle as the chrome effect wrap couldnt be stretched much, which didnt work with the curves. The TT bikes finish was pretty shite, but looked great in photos.

I never liked the chrome finish one bit personally. Proper bling overdose!

Exposed weave carbon fibre on the other hand…

Pretty sharp looking in the flesh, but....
Hate the license plate/trailer hitch on back.
Panel display looks like a tablet computer bolted to the bike, they couldn't give it a sexier-curved shape?
Dr Hentschel, you look like you're being executed today, please smile, you're introducing your flagship offering here.
SG may have been a thief, but he knew how to introduce a product with a pizzazz.
Looks like the new Norton company needs some PR practice.

Something old guys can afford and young guys cannot
but old guys cannot ride it and young guys can.
It makes twice the horse plus than my car.
I'd be killed the first day on it.
Hey, I am officially old. :-(

Yes, and also noticed many balding crowns in the audience.

They should sack the digital image guy !
