    Guys
Signed up to Access Norton a while ago when I got my Norton V4SS but I'm not very good on this forum.

I wanted to share some pictures and videos with you of my Norton V4SS. I've heard only 36 have been registered here in the UK.

Really hoping someone will buy and revive this great brand.

Can someone give me some pointers how to upload photos and videos please?

    Many thanks

Register at some like https://postimages.org/ but not photobucket.

Once loaded then you navigate to the image in my 'images' clicking on share will get the link info and add it to a post by pasting into the Image box.

Never done a video but if you load it up to your Utube account then you can add links to a post.

Nice vids, especially the one comparing the sound of the 3 bikes!

It will be an absolute travesty if the V4 dies as a result of the collapse of Garners house of cards.

One piece of advice Dandy... lose the turn ups dude...!

Keep an eye on the valve clearances, the Norton V4 has the same valve train issues as the Aprillia V4 its derived from. Once the valve clearances become tight but not corrected the valve heads will fall off the valve stem and cause major damage.

There are a few pics on Twitter of Norton V4's with missing valve heads

    https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=74&t=1647909&i=120

TYPICAL RSV4 problem, the valves. Was just reading Aprilia Forum two days ago. The clearances HAVE to be checked at first service, the gurus suggest, but even that does not really help, some people dropped valves anyway, on bikes that are not even 3000km old. And these are not old models, these are 2016-..., for crying out loud! After all these years Aprilia still hasn't fixed the problem. On these bikes recommendation by mechanics who service RSV4 is to check valve clearances every 2000km, just to be sure.
Exactly these kind of problems stop my desire to buy RSV4 dead in its tracks. Every time I decide to get one, I log on a forum and there are fresh cases of expensive and time consuming problems. One can get extended warranty, in fact, that is the only bike that I saw offered with extended warranty in second-hand adds, without it I wouldn't touch RSV4 with a pole, but the gamble is there that you lose a season because of bike standing in service.

Really? I've not seen any pictures on Twitter of Norton V4s with missing valve heads. In fact I've not seen any post any pics of them out riding their Norton V4?

There were 2 last week but can't find it now, don't use twitter but I was looking at notnorton motorcycles and notnorton moto but you can easily get lost in all the interlinking between accounts.

I use Postimage since Botophucket went berserk.
Take pic with phone, email to second email account, download to computer and upload to Postimage. Then copy-and-paste the hotlink for forums.

To post a photo off the intertube, add bracketIMGbracket to the beginning and bracketslashIMGbracket to the end.
A warning; some images have coded addresses that are longer than Lincoln's leg and useless for this method.

    Blimey!

I guess the 650 platform will / would have inherited the same...?

As soon as you know about the issue with the valve heads its easily prevented, just check the clearances are set right immediately, then check more frequently than the factory recommendation after that and the problem will never arise. I did see one post 2 years ago where an Aprilia V4 was losing its edge and was taken in for a check, the valve clearances were marginally below spec and so it was caught in time by a dealer that knew about the issue and that was his first check.

Of course the other way to post images here, not yet mentioned, is to become a VIP member. Then you can post pics directly to this site using the Upload a File button at bottom of each text entry box (only appears for VIPs). This forum brings much value to Norton ownership and only seems appropriate to support the site by paying the fee.

I wonder if the V4 will ever get its own forum, or will it continue to share the Norton Motorcycles (Modern) forum?
Seems like it should have one of its own, considering it's uniqueness.
