I just got home from the annual AHRMA vintage race at Willow Springs Raceway here in Southern California. There was a good turnout of a wide variety of vintage and modern bikes (AHRMA has classes like Sound of Singles and Battle of the Twins, and others where modern bikes are allowed). I only saw three Commando powered bikes, none in Commando frames. I might have missed someone, but I don't think so. First up is the 920 Commando/Featherbed my friend Jeff races. I also loan him one of my Sound of Singles 2 bikes to race. These two pictures show both bikes in the pits at Willow. His Norton has a modern front end, so races in more modern classes, like Sound of Singles, not the vintage classes. The other bike (the DUBBS) is my Sound of Singles 2 bike, with a home made chassis and built Yamaha 610 cc SRX/XT/TT engine.
