Hi - has anybody come across the history of a Norton model 18 built in 1947 to take part in the IoM TT races?
It was built in Jedburgh, Scotland, UK as far as I know and nick named 'The Hairy Bear'
Origionally 500cc then bored out to 633cc.

It would be great to hear from anyone who has info on it.
I am in the process renovating it.

Cheers
Phil Arundel

Thanks

We have been watching this thread with interest elsewhere, to see what eventuates.
Have you investigated the builder/rider of this bike ?
A nickname like that could well come from the builder - a beard perhaps, in particular ?
P.S. Welcome here.
Any chance of a pic of this beast - this forum thrives on pics.

Hi Rohan,

I am in the process of trying to get in touch with the builder/first owner - hoping for success soon !

erm…. any ideas how to attach a photo?

cheers

Phil

You have to upload the pics to something like photobucket, and then post the link to it here.
Using the [ img ] symbols in the toolbox line just above where you post here.
Cheers.
