I know that a lot of the forum are based outside Europe and this may to be relevant but I would be interested to find out who from the forum will be attending this event in May next year. We are riding from London and have no set plans other than to get there. If anyone else is interested in joining us or riding part of the way we would be happy to adapt our very loose plans. We will be riding a new 961 Dominator and a 961 Commando.

I'm going with my wife. We're getting to mainland Europe with North Sea Ferries, Hull / Rotterdam so will see you there.

I'm really looking forward to this. so roll on May 2016.

Well at least that seems that four of us are going!!!!!!!

Two of my friends are going from Yorkshire but they have less time than me to do the trip (there and back) so are travelling independently , so that's six. I'm making it a bit of a holiday where I only have to average about 140/150 miles a day 8) I might do a long day or two followed by a day off here and there sight seeing and relaxing with beer.

If yo can can you post your intended routes, maybe nearer the time and we can see if any match up or are near to ours and perhaps we could meet en route!

We intend to meet another 961 owner in Lucerne at the Ace Cafe there around the 23rd May if anyone is interested.

Hi Graham, sorry I didn't get back to you before. We are actually riding from Rotterdam to Dusseldorf on May 20th and catching the overnight motorail train to Verona, and so we will be in Verona on the morning of the 21st and having a few days around the lake there before riding down to the rally on the Tuesday or Wednesday.
I don't tend to plan routes in advance to any great extent (except booking the ferries and in this case a Motorail train which I'm only taking one way), so that's as far as I've got. Nearer the time I'll start some loose planning, but as you can see on the way to the rally I've cut out most of the ride south so probably it might be impractical? So unless your coming to the Verona vicinity maybe we'll see you there?

Reg

Hi Reg Sound like you've got it all sorted. Just out of interest how much was the train and have you used it before. Don't suppose that we will see you en route but hopefully see you there. Apart from going to Lucerne and booking the site we haven't got any plans as to hotels etc but we have never been stuck yet

The train costs Euro 586 (approx £445 ) and this is for 1 x motorcycle, two persons in a shared 5 berth accommodation and an evening meal x2 and breakfast x 2. If you were to travel both ways on the train (Motorail) it works out quite a bit cheaper per journey but of course then you would miss out on more riding.

I haven't used it before but a good friend of mine has, and he says it's a good service, so we thought we'd give it a whirl one way. Journey time is approximately 14 hours if I recall correctly and it travels overnight.

When we get there you can tell me all about it as it sounds OK apart from the not riding bit. We will be passing through Bologna on the 24/25th so may see you on the road south.
