Sure sounds like Ken is closing the operation.

Supposedly the last batch of heads sold out on the same day and deposits on future heads are being returned.

Bummer.

The last heads are going out in the post today. Except for those I'm keeping for my own use. My cam and (old) reground followers are winging their way across the Pacific from Jim. Then,my rebuild can begin. Then, I'm going to relax, ride my Norton, and do other, more relaxing things.

I see you got one "like" so far on your plan. While I agree with the idea of doing things with your life that you enjoy, this makes me sad and a bit alarmed. We have had some halcyon years with great services and products available for these old machines. I am a little concerned for what happens next!

Relax. AN still sells quality replacement parts and there are numerous exciting developments in the pipeline. Obviously the public is willing to pay for quality products.

Just received mine 2 days ago from Andover Norton, looks very nice, looking forward to using it in anger on my racebike.Enjoy your retirement Ken.

I'm still too new to Nortons that I have no idea what a FullAuto head is/does...so for me ignorance is bliss if they are no longer available....

Fullauto, not FullAuto. I'm quite sure that before too long, they will be worth more on the secondhand market than a new one was. You don't know what you're missing.

If there’s a market and some profit to be made, someone will pick up the baton and run with it. Although I don’t own a Fullauto cylinder head, I’d like to say thanks to Ken for all he’s done to keep Nortons on the road.

the ability to buy a brand new vastly improved cylinder head vs factory original now the only other option that is also all used up

If anyone picks up the ball I hope they go another step further. The FA head had the raised port floors which is great, but not enough. To bring it home the guides need to be re-angled so the valve heads are further apart from each other. Then use intake seats with a larger OD. They could still use stock valves and rockers and fit a 750 but anyone could put in larger valves by just enlarging the ID and recutting the valve seats. Also add/design some more meat around the intake ports (all the way out to the head bolts) so you can port them wider and BOOM ... you have the ultimate Norton head. You've got to design the castings anyway so what the hell? ... stretch things a little with a CAD program. The dimensions and angles are already there in the Narley port CD so there are no excuses. Remember that the valve layout was designed for the 650SS and todays Nortons have way outgrown that. A well made head that starts with FA street performance with room for development into a oval port big valve would fetch a shitload of buyers in the long run.

Well, Jim, here's your opportunity !
