75 MkIII, 15k miles, one owner. I just replaced the springs with Progressive springs and filled with the appropriate amount of 20W fork oil, pumped the fork to remove any trapped air and took it for a test ride. On the test ride I noticed that the forks bottom easily on bumps and seem to have no perceptable compression dampening when rocking the bike with the front brake held. It seems to be just as bad as before. I removed the forks and checked the compression resistance without the top nut attached to the tube.......there seems to be no resistance. Maybe it never had any to start with but I dont remember it being this bad in years past.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated......Thanks.....Jerry

Well......I guess that explains that....I was wondering how it could work with such large holes....I guess it doesn't......Thanks

I admit to not being experienced on N-15 .....but my atlas' are 3/8-26tpi damper rods.
first I heard of metric on nortons besides BA threads

Dyno dave,
Ludwig as a lansdowne kit he wants to modify, the "new" tubes are metric, you are right the standard threads are 26 tpi early and unf later..ie Commando
