I thought I would post this, since I know the bike, and the guy who owned it. The auction site is in central Nebraska, just South of I-80. Both Kevin and his brother had JPNs. I'm good friends with this guys nephew, and between the three of them they have a lot of interesting bikes - bevel Ducatis, MV Agustas, several Nortons, Hurricanes, you name it. Obviously the JPN hasn't been ridden much. I'm sure of one thing, it's had reasonable care. Looks like the LeMans got ridden the most. I know several of you rivet counters, will point out the K&Ns, and the peashooters, but it looks like the original black exhaust is included - shown in pic 5. I think the only thing they are implying by the word original is that is basically is. Not a museum piece or restoration. If you are in the midwest, might be worth checking out.

I'm pretty sure I know those people. I've seen the JPN before and there use to be a Laverda too?

I bought a pre-unit Thunderbird from them once.

Dad's side of the family lives not too far away in Henderson and my cousin is good friends with them.

Yes! Small world! The brothers are Kevin (deceased) and Don. Don's son is Jess, and he's got a Laverda. I think Don has some kind of Dunstall Norton at the moment, but has been selling off some stuff, kind of winding down. He's got to be in his 70s. Jess has got a lot of cool bikes. Ducati bevels, Jota, CBX, Hurricane, MV. Good guys, sorry to lose Kevin. I got a link about the auction from a friend who's really into the vintage bugs and microbus stuff, so I'm sure he'll be out bidding on that. I might get out to the auction, not to buy, but just to visit with some folks I know will be there.

I last saw the bikes about 20 years ago. I think the Laverda is a Jota. I also remember a hand made custom bike. I think it may have had a Cub engine or something.

I might try to dig up some old pics later.

There was also a guy in the area with a bunch of single cylinder BMWs.
