With all this drama I'm having with Paypal and their plan to close my account and henceforth my Ebay account
I'm looking at starting my own web site, i came across simplesite.com and in 2 min I had my own web site
www.tritonmotorcycleparts.com now I'm not computer smart but simplesite.com has rave reviews and is perfect for the computer illiterate like me. so far its seems so easy, I think the hardest thing will be getting a merchant account so I can accept credit cards, I've inquired to http://www.thetransactiongroup.net so I'll
see what happens. in the mean time I'll get all my products loaded on to the site, thats gonna be time consuming.

PayPal and e-bay both take a cut, you can either get more money on each transaction or lower your prices. If you do close your accounts or they do it for you, don't forget to tell them to take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut

keeping an Ebay acc even though you have a web site is still a good idea, just use it as an advertising platform
to direct customers to your web site , discretely of course, is what I've been told.

I dont know much about it, however my daughter and her husband have tried a number of payment systems in their part time business and have settled on using E transfer, which is an interac product. It works much like Paypal in that money is sent via email, however the fees are lower and the funds are available almost instantly. Their business is in sales of purebred pups and also stud services for a large South African dog breed called the Boerboel. Most of the transactions are in the 2 thousand to three thousand dollar range. It is done via online banking and I do not think interact would be in any way as controlling as Paypal seems to be.

My daughter and Son in law started with wire transfers, but found them slow and costly. Paypal was somewhat better, but still left a lot to be desired. So far the E transfers (via their bank and the customer's bank) have been the best so far. They deal with transactions all over the world but mostly in Canada and the US.

Don't know what the regs are for the Phillipines, but "Cash America" has a very good rate for the iphone card reader. I know with the "Square", you can get cash from your own card without the typical credit card cash advance fees, but their rates are higher. You can also transact with account number & expiration, no actual card needed.

Yeah, you just need to mail your credit card to the Philippines to get swiped. That should work great…

Those things are a barrel of laughs - don't know what they are worth from one day to the next !

So far its mostly up - but with nothing to underpin them, somewhere its likely to be all down....!?

Maybe you have friends who are a bit more computer literate that could help you? There are major pitfalls all over the internet - please be cautious and keep safe. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!
