Hi guys I know there are lots of posts on tyres, but have we a list of options(I have TTs on at the moment but cracked and old)
Cheers.

Ive used TT100s since forever. My only real complaint is fast wear on the rear. As in REAL FAST. And now, at this point, I cannot tell one
tyre from another on the whole as my footrest scraping days are over.

I'm stuck in the past also, so therefore not tuned to the latest & greatest rubber.

Thanks fellas, seems personal preference is the key, I do like the idea of modern rubber, and not that bothered about the look as long as grip is good overall.

TT’s for me as well , seem to work well and last long enough for the miles I get each year , my relatively modern Italians get Michelin PR4 and so far see no need to upgrade there either until the 4’s are discontinued .... did have a set of Maxxi’s sport tires on the Commando for a couple of seasons , seemed okay and not expensive ..

Still using TT's but thinking of trying the Avon's. Not tearing around like I used to and wobbling back from the cider pub in Elmley castle. That was 40 years back and it's a house now. Had roadrunners on for one try and went back to the K81's.

I'm using Avon Road Riders. I like them once on. Getting the beads seated right can be a challenge - they are tubeless tires so the bead is a little different than tires made for tubes. It's much easier with a lot of soapy water, but I don't like using a lot so I struggle with them.

Somehow my brain doesn't know how old I am while riding and has me take corners leaning hard. They have plenty of grip in a steep lean. Good thing because if I went down I would probably disintegrate, die, or at least wish I died!

Loving the replies, I still like to scratch(a little) when the opportunity arises, we know it's not a sportsbike(we'll it was in the day) but we all like Grip.

Avon Road Riders get my vote, use them on Road and track and have them on all my ‘classics’.
Got my vote too for Road Riders. The only other thing is 90/90-19 or 100/90-19 on the front. I’ve tried both and prefer the 100/90. The quicker steering of the smaller one doesn’t feel right.

TT100 actually look pretty big on the front. Ive looked at the 90 90 and it looks scary small. But when you get home and notice the wear
on the tyre you can see not much of it actually contacts the road. And they do wear to one side due to roundabouts.
The one thing to consider is that you may not hang the corners as you once did but in the event of, er, an EVENT, the very best tyre may
give you that extra six inches and keep you from disaster.

Another vote for Avon's especially if you live in Australia.

I'm using RoadRiders as well, very happy with them for normal road use and for track days. Seem to wear well, lots of grip, good price, British, what's not to like?

For pure track work though, some people swear by the classic Conti's, but I doubt that it makes a difference for what I use the bike for.

The old tyres look classic but are old design, the Avon's are modern and look it with better thread patten, better grip in the dry as well in the wet, my Norton I have own since new but I want the best grip and not for looks, I run Avon's RR on my Norton as well as my 2013 Thruxton and I push them to their limits, so new modern tyres for me and the Avon's haven't let me down and I do take them right to the edge, I might have aged with my Norton but I still ride all my bikes hard and push my tyres to their limits, so modern over classic for grip and safety and I also get good mileage out of my Avon's.

Don’t the fast boys use race compound Classic Conti’s ?
Jep, just as others use race compound Avons :)
One of the other blokes with whom I ride at Spa has a very quick Pantah based creation (currently has a 900 engine etc.). Steen used to run Avon race compounds but has now switched to the Conti Attacks in race compound. Says that it gave a better feel and removed a wobble, but he has probably 50% or more power then my Commando....

I believe the Classic attack does not, as I can't find any reference to it in the race attack options.

The classic attacks can wear quickly, but the TWI seems to be very generous also still experimenting with pressures, which at the moment seems to suggest that Conti have massively underrated the tyre loading capability. I will use again, yes they are slim though but construction is very good, but I suspect that the others will catch up construction wise in the very near future making Radials the norm.

Having used Roadriders for over 10 years, these are just better all round, though they look too narrow, top picture just fitted, and some say get too hot, but they can't be as you can keep your hand on them.

I was told to run them up around 38psi/42psi but now I find they sent me two fronts, its like pulling teeth sometimes trying to get some progress.
