I was discussing a mod on PM to another member and realised some of the content might be useful to others.
My local paint shop now sells 2 pack epoxy pressure packs - there is a button on the bottom of the can to release the catalyst into the "main" can.
They mix it for you on demand and make additives such as for "satin" or "flat".
It goes on well and, importantly, dries very hard - very good for clamped, bolted connections.
An "unmixed" can will apparently last for at least 12 months but when "activated" has to be used within 24hrs.
Just thought others might like to know (...or already do)
Cheers

I've used this type of paint on my roadster tank & sidecovers. It seems good, much harder than normal rattle can paint and should be petrol resistant.
However... the type I used says it has a life of about 2-3 hours after mixing, so if you have problems with orange peel etc, you just have to carry on and fix it afterwards - no time to sand it down again an apply another coat. As a result, I'm spending a lot of time with fine sandpaper and cutting compound to get an acceptable finish.

Just ensure that the paint you use does not contain isocyanates (sp?) - these are found in the proff paints and require a hood & mask with separate air supply. Serious stuff, but its seriously poisonous stuff.

There not much paint in there so don't run out.
I once tried their 2k epoxy primer to do a frame. Needed 3 cans @ $20 each.
Soon thereafter went back to using PPG.

I clear coated my tins with Spraymax and it looks professional. I have a thread here somewhere. Also is gas/alky resistant real good.
Hard to sand out because it is hard material, but it buffed out to perfect.

My guess is that the best results come from the correct preparation and application, not so much the paint itself (although it helps)

this paint is way nice, but yes, the can runs out quick. I've been super super happy with the results I've gotten with it.
