Guys, I just added a norton commando to my collection. It's brillant but it does not run. The previous owner got the bike and parked it outside under a tap. jackass!

After changing plugs, getting a new battery generally cleaning the beast I see the main fuse is blow. Any ideas why? What ease should I look?

Btw. From a cosmetic point of view it's 9 out of 10. I think the owner, before the guy I got it from, had it really well sorted.

Ill take it off your hands for free and save you years of psychiatric treatments

If the fuse is blown, it means the horn has a short and every Norton owner knows that the bike must be taken appart completely to replace the horn, so follow my advice and just give it to me

Jean

PS Have you tried replacing the fuse :?:

Often fuse blows on novices that hook the battery up back-ass-wards. Besides horn shorting i've also lost fuses d/t brake light ground strap behind the lens fraying to short out, mysteriously intermittently at first. Cdo have a lot of excess police wiring, most of it red+ wire ground loops, so be aware those might of got connected to the wrong neg. side of power flow. Do learn about the primary chain tension before riding off into damaging heat tension. If disc brake beware to check fluid that may leak out un-known on the fly to suddenly be gone one good pull down to nothing at all on the next instant. Which model Commando is this?
