I recently bought a 1974 850 Commando Roadster. The bike is in great shape, but a few things are not original and I want to correct that. The air box was replaced with individual clamp on filters -- I have the original air box. The main switch and horn are mounted on a home-made bracket and neither is original (the horn is from a Toyota). I can tell the general location where things go from the parts manual but some close-up pictures would be a great help. I can guess on the air box, but haven't a clue about the main switch and horn location or wire routing to them.

Is it the perforated metal (850 Mk2) or black plastic (850 Mk2A) type?

For a perforated metal airbox, the ignition switch bracket is spot welded to the backplate:

For the plastic airbox, it is a bolt-on bracket:

The horn bolts to the underside of the battery tray. Note that the two horn mounting plate bolts extend rearward and so double-up as the front lower mudguard/fender mounts.

Thanks! Mine is the black plastic type. I think I see enough from your pictures to figure it out now.
