I need to see how to install the centerstand spring on a '66 Atlas.

Does anyone have pix of the underside of the bike, showing the spring attachment points?

From the parts book illustration (one of only 4 or 5 in the entire book), it is unclear. The centerstand I'm installing has no hook, hole, or other attachment point that I can make out.

Thanx.

On my '63 Atlas, there is a wire hook (resembling a fish-hook) that passes around the crossbar of the center stand (near the pivots). The spring hooks through the "eye" of the fish-hook.

The spring has a round "eye" about 3/4 inch dia. that hooks over a stud about 1/2 inch dia on the left side engine/gearbox mounting plate. The stud is located about 1 1/2 inches from the upper gearbox mount through-bolt. There is also a corresponding hole in the right side engine/gearbox plate that has nothing in it, but perhaps in earlier models, had a through-bolt that passed through the spring eye and connected between the two corresponding holes.

Ah, so.

Sure enough, that stud was there in the shadows, and I now realize that what i thought was a spread-open link from a chain, is actually the "clip" that connects the spring to the c'stand.

Done, thanx.
