I've been selling a lot of my Dad's Norton stuff and this is the place to go for information! You guy's know your stuff!

I know this was originally going on a Commando 850 (1974 I am almost certain) restoration that my Dad was originally going to make a cafe style. He ended up doing a "normal" restoration as best I understand it. I've already sold a Clubman fairing but I had a bit more information on that one. My Dad doesn't recall where he purchased this but he thinks it came from an individual. It has the upper fairing, wind screen and a bubble screen that goes over the headlight hole. I want to list it on Ebay but don't have any information on it. It's fiberglass and seems to be of good quality but there are no markings, stickers or anything else identifying it. From the pictures can any of you guys tell me anything about this? Thanks in advance!

Kenny, Thanks a million! I appreciate it!!

Is Airtech the company that manufactures these exclusively or is the brand Rickman? My apologies for my ignorance!

Airtech reproduces classic fairings.

Avon was the manufacturer of fairings.

The actual fairing name is Avon Lynx.

Rickman made bikes and used this type of fairing, hence some people may refer to this as a Rickman fairing.

This is most likely an original Avon Lynx.

This Velocette also has the lower fairings.

After looking at the website it is identical to the "RTF1 Cafe half fairing- street", Origin: "Reed Titan," the last fairing on the page. But the seller doesn't list online sales or even an email. I'll give them a ring tomorrow. Also, their fairing doesn't show the headlight bubble or the screen. I'm assuming it comes with it but am interested in what they have to say.

Thanks again and anymore info would be much appreciated!

Swooshdave, just saw your post after I posted this so I went back to edit it. Yes, that looks like it. Thanks for all your help. I'll call them tomorrow. So if mine is 30 years old it is probably an Avon? I'll do some digging and try to educate myself on all of this. Thanks again, you guys are a great help! Much appreciated!

"They are very similar in shape, but different pieces altogether.
The Rickman has an 8" headlight hole, vs the 7" on the Reed.
The windscreen bevel is deeper on the rickman and has a longer section along the tank"

Swooshdave, I haven't been on here in a while but thanks so much for leading me in the right direction. I got busy but need to call and find out about the screen and the headlamp bubble and thanks a ton for the link. The mystery is thinning! Have a great Mother's Day weekend.

Not to hijack this thread but if anyone wants this fairing I am open to offers before I put it on eBay. I took a hit on the last fairing I sold! It sold for 240 bucks and cost me 250 to ship it! So, whoever got it got a steal but, such are the wages of dealing!!
