Need a pair of 19" Avon GP tires for my JPN restoration.
Outfit in Pflugerville, Tx. has good price going on ebay right now. Best I've seen. Have bought items from them before & had very good service.
Pardon were uni's, although few GP's up there.
found these however they are narrower and for the rear only?
That 3.60-19 is a front tire and I never saw one fitted stock.
BTW, the Dunlop K81s, aka TT100s, also came stock.
And, IMO they were a better tire.
I do not think the K81's were put on the JPNs from the factory, but I could be wrong.
Here in CA they certainly were.
4.10H19 was a replacement size for 3.50 19 and 3.60H19 was a replacement size for 3.25 19.
The racing tire that's currently available from Avon is the original size.
Is this by chance your (old)bike here?
Mine had the TTs and they were original
mmm.... I wonder..... could be either?
Dunlop in the U.S., Avon in U.K.?
except the first Avon photos I posted were from a 228 mile JPN from Minnesota.
That's why I used a question mark...
I was second owner of mine and it had original tires which were TT 100's. If that means anything.
I am thinking the factory just put on what they had, see this photo taken in 75.
Maybe different markets had different tyres?
No evidence of that from UK, US and other road test photos which generally show TT100s fitted.
I would have thought any 'road' GPs would be extremely ancient by now. OK for a static exhibit, perhaps?
I might have some "okay for static exhibit" Avons. I'll have a look...
thanks don't worry about it, I am staying with I have.
What do we hypothesise the logic as being then, just buying from whoever was the cheapest when placing each order?
Separate names with a comma.
