need to transport a motorcycle from Wisconsin to Florida - need recommendations on who's good and who's not....

I used J C Motors to move both my Commando's and the 1957 TR6. Not cheap but no drama at all and always knew what was going on. They are under another name these days (iirc)
Edit.

On the other hand my 1973 Moto Guzzi when it got transported New York to the west coast (arranged by the shipper here) was lost for weeks, location unknown and most likely done via bid to transport (cheap)

Maybe there could be a pinned thread for reliable shippers in the Motorcycle Related Discussions Forum.

I've used uship.com to find a shipper several times and have been happy. Each time, big shippers have made offers but I went with little, private guys. You are afforded some protections you don't get if you work directly with a shipper for the money part and it costs nothing if you don't make a deal. Other than my local guy, I would never work with anyone without someone in the middle handling the money. Even though the middle company like uship gets paid, they handle a lot for the shipper so the shipper doesn't have to charge as much.

I recommend Federated. They are not inexpexpensive, but within competitive bounds. I found them after using a "motorcycle" shipping company that told me the shipping from Seattle to Boston would take one week, after 10 days I called them and they didn't know where it was, but they'd get back to me, they didn't. When the bike showed up a week late I asked the driver what had happened, turned out that the shipping had been sold and bought twice along the way.

with Federated I can track the shipping by the hour and it stays with Federated, they took pictures before touching the bike, as did the seller; the two sets of pictures matched the motorcycle that was delivered, on time in an enclosed trailer.

If you go for the lowest price shipper, or one who puts the shipping up for bid don't be surprised if the motorcycle shows up late packed into the back of a sub-compact car...

Best.

I used USHIP , onetime and never again .
they have Give no responsibility To things going wrong . Read the fine print . You put your faith into a driver that you don’t know . Turns out the driver does not have to be responsible either .

READ THE FINE PRINT .
pause a known responsible company
