Hi everyone. New to the board. I bought a 73' 750 basket case project. Might be in a little over my head but really looking forward to working on this project.
I've removed the engine, gearbox and have the frame ready to get powder coated.
I've got a workshop manual.... any other resources you can recommend for this undertaking?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Anyone who had the sense to google a Norton forum in order to seek assistance with a new project is NOT in over their head.

Definitely take a few "before" photos for posterity, then start getting organized. (hope you got at least one decent shot before disassembly)

I have an excel spreadsheet with about 100 line items that covers everything but individual fasteners and gaskets, it makes it easy to plan your priorities and strategy, then plan your budget which you must know beforehand, you will exceed. If you want a copy of it, I can e-mail it.

The gearbox is definitely not rocket science, although it has one or two semi-critical fitment points, and the inner layshaft bearing is a special bit.

I have "Kim the CD Man" Norton disc, it is WELL worth the few bucks it sells for. It has the shop manual, parts book, tech articles, and nostalgic promo literature including the famous "Norton Girls" adverts.

www.OldBritts.com is a fantastic parts source, and they have the online parts books you can use for budget planning and direct click-to-order feature.

Make sure to post regular ongoing photos of your progress, even if it is only at the end of an afternoon or evening spent cleaning up bits and/or mocking up.

Welcome!

take a photo of every removal stage.. and lay everything out in order.. remove head and then cylinders fashion a plate to go over crankcase mouth so bottom of pistons will pull hard up against . You will need to do this to lock the engine to undo camshaft sprocket nut..

Replace all seals and gaskets new. Roller layshaft bearing. Replace all rubbers and hoses.
Oh yes.. the Credit Card.
