This is the last bike I had (and sold). It's stock paintjob was a little dated so I decided to paint it myself. Here is the results. Opinions please and don't hold back. I plan to paint my commando .
My first Bike paintjob

Lately I've been thinking english racing green with gold lettering and a tan solo seat . No flames !

Paint job looks good. How was it done? What sort of paint.
There maybe just a hint of orange peel in the finish, not sure, but it's far better than anything I ever achieved.
I gave up trying to do my own.
By the way I am sure its called 'British racing green', but I could be wrong...
Hortons Norton did a mat green project that could be worth a glance.....his solo seat was black, but I have seen a tan solo Corbin type seat on this forum, but I can't remember where....anyone? It was very distinctive.
I also thought that the fastbacks which were green had silver lettering, but of course that is a matter of choice.

The tank had about 7 coats of clear with no buffing to level it out. I had put the tank back on for buffing support but never got around to it before some guy had to have it . The black was deltron ppg. Next was 2 coats of clear on the tacky deltron. 2 days to dry. Laid out the flames and left open toward the front. sanded the flames area and sprayed with Rustoleum Chrome feathering from the front for ghost effect. Dryed for a day. No sanding... sprayed over the silver with a flexable translucent cobalt blue , duplicolor I think. Allowed to dry hard (2 days) . 5 or six coats of clear with about 5 minutes tac time in between. No dry coats, spray til it turns wet each time. That's it.

Flames with no pin striping is tough to do.
Looks good.
