Where can I get some double stripe tape, of the correct dimensions that matches the 1975 Black/red on the silver gas tank Interstate?

Maybe 8-10 feet or so to do both sides.

I've bought rolls of double stripe tape from auto paint stores. They usually stock the standard dimensions for various car makers. Don't know if you'll find exactly what you want in black and red though - might have to be creative and do 2 separate stripes.
 
What is the official 1975 Norton Interstate tank stripe dimension please?

Looks to be big and little.
No Norton supplier sells a roll of this Black/Red stripe?

Don't think I've ever seen one in person, but I have painted a couple older Interstates with a single stripe, and used 1/4" width. I'd say the 1/8 1/8 1/4 would work, but as I said I dunno if they sell multi color versions of those.
 
Mine is the double red and black , on my Interstate. When this paintjob goes bad I have ready 2 new rolls of pinstriping.

Just realized the black roll will be too thin. And possibly not long enough...
If we can locate a source for double stripe one roll in black/ red in correct thicknesses that would be great.

Come by and take the photo when in T.O. next time in town as I have never posted a photo after Photobucketbastard wiped out recorded and posted photos.
But I recall a recent thread showing the original Interstate paint.
 
I have what I believe is an original NOS silver Interstate tank and I'll post a pic of it within the next day or so.
 
how can you miss the target with so much information available?

You could buy a brochure off eBay, WTF

Were'nt the stripes painted and 'Norton' was a decal? I know that was the case for my old Black/Gold Interstate tank.

I think the stripes probably were painted . I am trying, with stripe tape, to give an old gal , with decent paint , a nice factory look.
 
Black is 5/16, Red is 3/32, space in-between is 1/8

These dimensions off a NOS tank. The stripes are painted and the logo is a decal

Here's the pics of my silver interstate tank. I bought it off ebay a number of years ago before all the Indian tanks showed up and was sold as NOS.
Came in a Norton box. Stripes are paint not tape.

Measurements are slightly different from CNW so who knows what this really is but it looks close to the brochure pic.
Measuring tape starts at seam on the bottom of tank. Graduations are 1/16th.

I have used striping tape on wheels and honestly, I thought it looked like hell. It is not that hard to paint them. You can buy very thin precut masking tape for 2 stripes in various widths. I got it from a local body shop supply house and there was a large selection. 3m I think.
 
I have to thank all photos posted here and the good advice. I have to keep this simple.
I am going with 1/16x1/8x3/8 tape. probably two individual tape runs.
