I’ve just had new swing arm bushes delivered from Andover Norton. Seems a fairly straightforward job to fit them. I’ve read they will need to be pressed in to the swinging arm. The problem or possible problem is that they don’t need to be pressed in! I can tap them in fairly easily, they seem snug but obviously not as snug as if they had to be pressed in. Is this a problem,or can i just go ahead and fit them? Thanks in advance.

Straightforward job indeed, do not forget to immerse the sintered bronze bushes in oil for a couple of hours before fitting.

If they go in as easy as you say then I would locktite them in
The ones I have changed have been a tight push fit

You can add the clamps that will take out the radial play and will reduce, possibly eliminate, radial play. I do like Peter R's idea of employing ISO shims, if needed; I have done many swingarm re-bush services and have been impressed with the tight fit, but have wondered when I'd run into a swingarm on one side of its tolerance and a cradle with tolerance in the other dimension; now I have a solution.

Best.

I would say that if you can slide them in without tools, they might be too loose but you said "tap them in". That sounds fine to me.
