I recently installed a swing arm spindle & bushes on a MK3. I noticed that there is no way for extra oil to get on the S/A bushes so once the initial lubrication is supplied, that's it for life. The spindle is hollow and threaded but there is no hole through the spindle to the bushes. The end caps are welsh plugs. I used redline shockproof oil because it clings so well to metal, gobbed in as much as I could and punched the welsh plugs home.
