I have finally got some assistance with measuring the trail on my Mk3 Seeley 850. I apologise if I have misled anyone previously. Measuring the trail on your own is not easy. This time I have used two quarter inch rods, but I did not turn points on the ends, so the measurements might still have about a 1mm error.

I am currently using fork yokes from a TZ350 of about 1973 - the yoke offset is 53mm. Which gives a trail of about 105mm. The handling is excellent and I am able to brake before corners, then power through.
Previously I was using Ducati Arces fork yokes which have a yoke offset of 65mm. Which gives a trail of 92 mm. The bike stood up under brakes and turned the wrong way.

The difference in trail between the two fork yokes is 12mm and that is the difference in the trail. If you are changing the fork yokes on your bike, it is critical that you get it right. 12mm is the difference between death and excellence.
