Hey Guys,
I hardly ever post considering all the work I’ve been doing to The Beast lately, but now is a good time since I just got done with the primary.
I took the outer cover over to my friend to help me replace the shifter shaft bush, which was loose. I got a new bush, seal and shaft from Andover. Quality stuff!
The hard part: the new bush MUST BE REAMED in situ. Good thing I got help, because I would have resorted to butchery. But now it’s done, and works a treat!
I also rebuilt the chain tensioner. I had to remove and dismantle the one-way valve, whack the ball against the seat to get it to fully seal again, then slap it back into its housing with a bit of locktite. Seems to be working. Adventures in motorcycling!
Now I can ride without oily feet!
