Mk3 e start

If you are curious, the prestolite starter motor and appropriate MK3 lead acid battery add about 21 pounds to the bike. I am guessing the remaining starter gears would be about 4 pounds ? So, if the starter motor and battery are removed and a smaller Shorai battery installed, it is a weight savings of about 20 pounds.

I wonder how much my replacement knees would add without the E-start?

I kicked plenty 40+ years ago; I'll push the button and keep my OEM knee a little longer.

Or buy a S type, a better saving with no MC, disc's, lighter primary cases's etc - Trying to lighten a MK3, one - it doesn't seem right, two, get a nice light quick 750 instead.

Don't forget to weigh the gear change cross over shaft for left hand gear change plus hydraulic primary chain tensioner
